PureHandle® surfaces contain silver ions which are embedded in a carrier system of ceramic glass. They form an active part of this material and prevent the growth of germs such as bacteria, algae and fungi. The silver ions destroy the cell membrane of the germ. This stops respiration and nutrition of the cells, so preventing cell division. The surface remains effective even when cleaned at regular intervals.

PureHandle® treatment is highly effective due to the fast action of its antimicrobial properties. The coating on the PureHandle® handles contain silver ions that prevent the growth of germs. The silver destroys the cell membrane of the germs and therefore blocks cell respiration and cell ingestion.

What’s the difference between Antimicrobial and Antibacterial?

Antimicrobial Technology is effective against a wide spectrum of microbes: this includes bacteria, mould, fungi and even viruses. Antibacterial Technology, on the other hand, is only effective against bacteria.
